What we're learning in class right now is about the planning process for our projects. My project is called "Bre's Story". It's about birth and a little bit on. I'm mainly going to talk about my infancy because there's a couple interesting parts in my infancy. I'm not completely sure what should come next. HAHA.
On www.mywebspiration.com, we made a moment map. On mine, it listed interesting things about my infancy. Such as, where I was born, when, what time, and to whom I was conceived. My project is going to be made into a slideshow, with many pictures of me being hooked up to a bunch of cords and all that good stuff.
What I am going to say in my presentation will be on the slides and in the notes section on my papers.

New Google stuff
Today we started playing in www.google.com/experimental. We are supposed to go through it and play in the little websites it has.
So far, the ones I like are:
Google Image Swirl- There you can type in something you want to see in an image. Then, it'll make a spider web-looking thing. The web is made up of the photos that you can look at from the search results.
Google Script Converter- Here, you can type in something you might want to search and there's drop box below the search box and you can select a language you want to convert those words to. It's a lot of fun, in my opinion, but the downside is that you don't have a lot of languages to choose from.
Google Flu Trends- This will help me learn how the flu rates are. As of now, the country that has the highest flu rate is Hungary. Theirs says that it is "High". I hope they all get well. The U.S.'s flu rate as of now, is "Moderate", meaning it's not too high and not too low. It's right in between. So, that's not too bad. Thanfully.
Similar Images- I like this because if I type in an image to search, it will show me similar pictures instead of a bunch of different things. It also shows related searches.

Trials and Trips of PSA
Over the last week, we had to make a Public Service Announcement (PSA)for computer class. It was supposed to be over the 5 rights in the First Amendment. The rights are speech, press, petition, assembly, and religion. After we made the PSA, we had to upload in onto Schooltube.com to enter it into the Five Rights contest. Now we have to wait to see who will win the contest. Good luck to everyone!

Poll Daddy Blog
To put your poll from Poll Daddy into your blog, you have to first, go make a poll. Then, after that, you hit the button on the screen that says "Save and Continue". Next, there will be a Poll HTML Code that you have to select and copy. Then, you go to your blog page. Go to where you can select "New Post". In the post, make sure to put a title for your entry. Finally, paste the code into your post and hit "Publish Post".

How Technology Affects Society
Today's society has been changed so much by technology. There are tools and applications such as Web 2.0, gadgets and widgets, embedded codes, Google wave, Facebook, and Hotmail.
WEB 2.0-
Web 2.0 has benefited society by letting you have applications that help you make creative works. An example of a Web 2.0 is Wordle. There, you can make awesome looking word clouds out of a bunch of random words. You can make the layout horizontal, vertical, mostly horizontal, mostly vertical, every which way, and many others. You can also customize the colors of the font and the background. You can even change the font. Another example would be Flickr. Flickr lets you share your photos with everyone. You do have to have a Flickr account in order to use the application.
Gadgets and Widgets-
Gadgets and widgets have benefited society by letting you add applications and links to blogs and web pages. I find them very helpful when I am trying to make my blog look fun and creative. It also helps let viewers learn a little about the person who made the blog or web page and what they might be interested in.

Embedded codes benefit society by letting you share all that you want onto a page. You can embed codes for music videos, games, or anything else you like. They also are something that can help make your pages fun and creative.

An example of a use for Google Wave would be, if you're inviting people to a party you can keep it organized on who says yes, no, or maybe. I'd say that Google Wave has made things on the computer and in life, a lot more organized. I would definitely use it.

Facebook is my all time favorite out of all of these. It's a site where you can go and connect with old friends and make new ones. Facebook has chat on it, so you can IM your friends and still play on one of Facebook's many applications. Facebook has games, quizzes, polls, surveys, and other applications. It's basically a blog, but it has a bunch more things you can do on it.

Voki.com
Today we played around in voki.com. There, you can make talking avatars! It's pretty cool. I hope you enjoy mine. It looks almost exactly like my dog Laredo. It's also pretty easy to embed your avatar into your blog. For more information, just comment on here with your question.

Lumosity.com
Yesterday, I went to lumosity.com to explore what they had on there. There were some pretty fun games to play that worked your mind. I played a memory matrix game where you have to try to remember where the red blocks are and click those spots and if you get it right, then there will be more blocks added to remember.
I also played Word Bubbles. It was very fun and addicting. It's where you have to type in words that start with 3 certain letters. It may sound really easy, but if you can't think really fast, then you'll probably have an issue.

Followers and Avatar
Followers- I learned to follow people and be followed by them. I learned to follow them by either going to my followers list and clicking the "Add" button and typing in their blogspot names/addresses. Another way is to go and send them an invite through their gmail emails.
Avatar- Today, we went to myavatareditor.com and learned to make avatars that are supposed to look somewhat like us. Then, post it. I went to the website, made my avatar-which looks like a Mii on the Nintendo Wii- and then I posted it to my blog. I did that by saving my avatar as a JPEG file pic and then adding it to my page as a gadget.

Layout, Dashboard, Settings
Here's a few of the things I am learning about so far on blogger.com:

Layout- When you get to the Layout page, you are able to move your gadgets around. You can also go to the links that say "Add A Gadget" to add new tools to your blog page. In the "Add A Gadget" link, there are many things you can choose from, such as, Search Box, Picture, etc. You can also edit the settings on how your posts are posted.
Dashboard- On Dashboard, you can view your profile. There are also links to help you get to edit, make new posts, add pictures, and etc. It also shows you who all you're following and some of their posts that they have recently posted. There are also links that let you add or manage who you follow.
